Mike Augello: Middling Miller; Ott Or Not?

Based on the thoughts of Eric Staal becoming "stagnant" in Carolina.

He's 29 years old and turns 30 a few weeks after the season begins. I don't see him as the best option in the world to trade for, seeing that we won't be good for at least another 3 years. Would anyone see a reason to trade for him? I liked the idea of going after a guy like Couture to blow our wad on, or maybe even Jeff Skinner.

Nothing. He is not worth what ever we would have to give up for him. There is better talent out there to go after.

Skinner is only item that most including myself would want from them. I would wonder however what it could cost. Ehroff is a good fit with Carolina not on his list of teams. You could pair him with the many prospects we have and picks for Skinner. Armia is another name of note but I think he will stay.

He averages 58 pts per 82 games. Not like he is a ppg player. I would do the Hoff and a third for him nothing more though. Doubt Carolina would though

IMHO, it would cost at least Myers and a #1 for Eric Staal and where the Sabres are right now, that deal makes no sense.
